germaniaGermany's reunification is an extraordinarily rel-evant event for having contributed to a new par-adigm of regional development policies in Europe. For Italy the interest is stili greater. The book, containing various essays, focuses on the economie policies for the Eastern Lànder to assess, first, whether the Germany pro-posals may be easily replicated, and secondly, whether the lack of economie convergence of Italy's southern regions could be avoided. The authors are convinced that the strategies of Germany's regional policies are to be taken as a reference point to understand the failure of government policies in the South of Italy.
